Delete Your Account
This page explains how to delete your BibleMarker account (operated by Kevin Spears / Spears Software) and the study data associated with it.
You only have a BibleMarker account if you chose to sign in with your email to sync study data across devices. If you have never signed in, you do not have an account and nothing is stored on our servers.
How to delete your account
Section titled “How to delete your account”- Open BibleMarker on your device.
- Go to Settings → Data.
- In the signed-in account section, tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted.
Your account and the study data synced to our servers are deleted right away.
If you can’t access the app
Section titled “If you can’t access the app”Use the Support page to request deletion. Contact us from, or reference, the email address associated with your account so we can verify ownership, and we will delete your account and its synced data.
What is deleted
Section titled “What is deleted”- Your account, including your email address.
- All study data synced to our servers (annotations, highlights, notes, keywords, and studies).
- Your sign-in sessions.
These are removed from our active systems immediately upon confirmation, and from any routine backups within 30 days.
What is kept
Section titled “What is kept”- Study data stored locally on your devices is not deleted. Deleting your account only removes the copy on our servers and signs you out; the studies on your device remain so you can keep using the app offline.
- To remove the local copy, delete individual studies in the app or uninstall the app from each device.
Deleting specific data without deleting your account
Section titled “Deleting specific data without deleting your account”You don’t have to delete your whole account to remove data. While signed in, deleting a study, keyword, note, or annotation in the app also removes it from our servers the next time your device syncs. The rest of your account and synced data stays intact.
